Shooting script for the opening of 'You're Invited'

Scene 1 – interior – common room – day.

Spooky music starts and the camera shoots at the scarcely decorated party poster saying ‘You're invited to Emily Booths Halloween party. Location: 21 Maple Street, Date: 31st October Time: 10 till late, Fancy dress IS compulsory’ then screen moves onto a plain white back ground with the words ‘you’re invited’ written in blood.

Scene 2 – exterior – Long shot of Emily house – night

Long shot of Emily’s house with guests walking down the street turning up to Emily’s house. Spooky music fades down and voice over of murderer’s heavy breathing starts.

Scene 3 – exterior – Emily’s house – night

The camera shoots suddenly at Emily’s scarcely decorated house with the sound effect of a ‘doom’, spooky music fades out then moves on to having a voice over of loud talking (creating soundscape) so loud it’s unbearable then once the talking has got very loud there is a sudden scream and it fades out to a black screen.

Alternative openings

Opening One:
People arrive at Emily Booth's house for the hallowe'en party. As the guests enter the party they start to look for Emily to say hello. Whenever Emily's name is mentioned the scene changes to Emily being killed by a mysterious murderer and then goes back to the party. People continue to ask for Emily's whereabouts and it goes back to the scene of her being murdered. This sequence happens a few times.

Opening Two:
This starts off with a poster advertising Emily Booth's Hallowe'en party showing the titile 'You're Invited'. The scene then amends to show Emily's house where the party is going to be held. The next part is a long-shot of the street where Emily's house is situated showing her excited guests arriving at the party. In the background you can hear the heavy breathing of somebody watching the house.

Emily Booth is the popular girl at school; her party is the topic everyone is gossiping about, although, the party takes an unexpected twist of events. People soon start to question Emily's whereabouts; the excitment of the party disappears and is replacedby fear and terror as strange things start to occur.

As expected, everybody did turn up.

Even an unwanted guest.
